Help grades 3-5 change our with underdesk pedaling stations as we begin "Readin' and Ridin' with Our Pack". Studies show that a mind-body connection is made when students read quality literature and put their bodies to work.
We hope that this will be the perfect addition to the small treadmill and one underdesk station that are currently have in place.
Through donations from our community members and faculty we hope to have a fully functional group of 20-25 stations by May of 2019. Our intention, with the assistance of our PE teacher, is to create a "reading circuit" for those classes who opt to visit the library during Recess period for a mental as well as physical workout. This will also benefit classes who cannot go outside due to weather events.
Students will read library books/ebooks while actively engaging their bodies and brains with under desk pedaling stations
We expect our students to take these "brain breaks" to spend time in our library building their brains and their bodies by increasing their breaking through grade levels while breaking a sweat.
