I teach special education in a NYC specialized public school. My high school students have special needs as they are both severely learning disabled and emotionally disturbed. Although their needs are challenging, their enthusiasm to participate and grow as educated thinkers is truly inspiring. Beneficial to such a positive outlook is a positive approach. Hands-on learning materials, assistive technology resources, and educational supplies are in great need as they are predominantly from low-income, high-poverty stricken homes with limited access to the necessary essentials to meet their needs. Any and all help to our class would be greatly appreciated and utilized.
