Phone pictures are alright, but professional-quality pictures are better! A DSLR camera and tripod will give my students the confidence and technical skills to take beautiful snapshots of their school year. The middle school yearbook showcases all the events that happen throughout the year, from sports games to holiday celebrations and assemblies. However, it is fairly difficult to get high-quality photos of these events, especially when shooting from a distance.
Our school has no photography equipment, which means that our students have very limited resources to learn the basics of photography and photo editing. In the yearbook club this year, students will learn about photo composition, editing, and camera mechanics so that they can capture important moments for the 2019-20 yearbook.
With a DSLR camera and tripod, my students will be able to shoot professional-grade photos that will look stunning in this year's yearbook. These tools will also allow students to more deeply understand camera mechanics and photo composition.
