I teach General Chemistry at Temescal Canyon High School. I use inquiry-based science teaching methodology in the classroom to promote students' exploration of scientific concepts. I believe on emphasizing the "why" in science education and pursue a curriculum that has students attempting to not only reach answers, but communicate on how they reached them. In addition, I approach the assigning of grades from a non-traditional method known as standards-based grading to evaluate students on objective learning targets as informed by the newly-implemented Next Generation Science Standards.
