Hi all! My name is Mariel Geron and I am so excited to start teaching second grade at Uplift Lee Elementary. I recently finished teaching summer school at Gill Elementary in Dallas, TX and I was immediately confronted with the very harsh reality that is the lack of resources that a lot of the low income schools in the DFW metroplex face. I am working hard to get my classroom for the school year together and a big part of my goal is to create a library full of all types of different books. I have already dedicated my graduation money towards this goal but I am looking for some additional support! During the school year I will have between 25 and 30 students and my goal is to have students read 10 books a week which means I need a ton of books! This is a BIG goal and I need your help! Please consider donating to my classroom!
