As a teacher of students with special needs, I'm always looking for ways for my students to be successful, in both the classroom and life. I teach students from the ages 9 to 14, with a wide variety of disabilities, such as Autism, Emotional Impairment, and Learning Disabilities. I am constantly looking for more ways to engage and improve my students skills through fun hands on activities that encourage positive peer relationships, and develop excitement for learning. My students are amazing learners who have overcome many challenging life circumstances before coming to my classroom. This coupled with an ongoing water crisis in this city, has proven to me how resilient and determined my students. They are constantly trying to do all they can to succeed in school and in life. I'm determined to provide them with as many opportunities as possible to help them be successful and not let their disabilities hold them back.
