I teach in an urban area of Virginia that has a high amount of poverty and low income. We learn in an older Title l school where 100% of my students receive free breakfast and free lunch.
My classroom is made up of much more than percentages and words. We are made up of imagination, creativity, confidence, and encouragement. We do not give up on ourselves or others.
As their teacher, I try to make every lesson engaging and hands-on to provide them with the skills they need to further their education. I want them to enjoy learning!
I try my best to make sure that my classroom is a safe and kid-friendly environment. Even though school funding my be diminishing, our goals and our excitement to learn does not!
