The students I am fortunate enough to teach have touched my heart and have continued to drive my passion for teaching because of their resilience and desire to learn. 98% of the students at our school receive free and reduced lunch. Many of them access our school pantry. 6% of the students in our school are identified as homeless. 53% are identified as a minority, with 26% having limited English proficiency.
Some of our students have been dealt tough life circumstances but still defy the odds and show up every day, ready to learn.
My students love learning through hands-on activities that are engaging and fun. In our classroom we are continuously building on our classroom community by supporting each other's thoughts and ideas. Students take risks and are brave with their thinking because they know they are supported by our family of learners. We are an incredible work in progress.
