We live in a unique district where the parents get to choose the school their children go to. A majority of my students wake up around 4 to get ready for school. Students ride the bus to a transfer location where they switch buses to take them to school. They have a large gap from breakfast to lunch. Items requested will help fill the gap. When students are hungry, they're distracted and they are not learning. I would like to make sure my students have healthy food so they can concentrate in the classroom throughout the day. When students are hungry, they're distracted and they are not learning. I would like to make sure my students have healthy food so they can concentrate in the classroom throughout the day. Food in the classroom can lead to more students paying attention, improve attendance, and fewer disciplinary problems. 94% of the students in our school come from economically disadvantaged families and 94% of our students also qualify for free and reduced lunch.
