The middle school grades are critical years for students that are both challenging and confusing. Many of my students do not have a class that allows them to release energy and they end up sending every class sitting behind a desk due to schedules not allowing time for the arts. Creating places around the room that students can activate their whole brain, move freely while mastering assignments and collaborate will lead to students being engaged in their work while increasing their stamina.
Sitting at a desk all day long can severally decrease motivation while increasing boredom and behavioral issues. A comfortable and inviting atmosphere in my room allows my students the chance to move and be free. It allows them to release a little energy that gets their brains ticking and intelligences expanded.
