Everyday, I am inspired. I am inspired because I work with some of the most heart warming students I have ever met.
My students come from a low income area. Our school is classified as Title I. But that does not stop my students from succeeding.
Each day, I have students who don't eat except their free lunch, yet they are able to get above an 80% on their math test. I have students who have only 1 parent and little siblings at home, yet they are the shoulder to cry on for their peers. I have students who have so much anger inside of them and get kicked out of class, yet they scored above proficiency in every subject. I have students who inspire me to be a better teacher because they deserve better.
They have no control over their circumstances at home so they are making the best they can at school. I want to be able to actually give them the best and let them know that their futures really matter because they do.
