To bring my dream learning activity to life, I鈥檇 love to get the Studios Alive Math and Reading Journals for my class. My students work on a variety of math and phonics activities on a daily basis. Having these phonics and math journals will help us meet science, social studies, technology, and social emotional objectives. My students do not have access to such technology at home, nor get to experience other adventures outside of home and school. Many have never been to a zoo, aquarium, or large public library. These journals will give them the opportunity to experience these things with the touch of a button while learning valuable lessons.
To make these upcoming lessons more engaging, my students would love to have these workbooks where the animals come alive. These pages and activities are very engaging for the students and keep their interest while learning in a fun way.
I also have requested several storage bins, as well as card stock paper to supplement my teaching projects.
We live in a small town located in a rural area quite far from a big city. A lot of my students never have the opportunity to travel outside of our town. COVID-19 shut down any opportunities to travel and/or experience new things outside of their home. Bringing new resources to them through these journals will give them a sense of experiencing a part of the world they have not seen, and at the same time help them with math and phonics skills.
These journals will excite the students and give them an alternative way to the standard teaching of letters and numbers. Their interest will be peaked and their attention will be focused on what鈥檚 coming alive in the books and interacting with the animals.
