I service African American students in a poverty-stricken area. They are a joy to work. Some of them, however live in conditions/arrangements that are disturbing. Most are homeless, doubled up with other family members, or living in a single parent home. Many of our students come to school hungry and dressed in uncleaned, smelly uniforms. My school is an inner city school in the middle of a drug infested neighborhood.
