I am a first year teacher at Wallace Elementary School, and I teach in a self contained classroom for children with autism. Autism is a disorder that is characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences. I absolutely love my job, and my students. One thing that I love about autism is that every child is unique, and every one of my students is different in their own way! I love building unique relationships with my students based on their unique differences! I have a wide range of students, from kindergarten to fifth grade, but the majority of my students are in first grade. We have worked so hard this year, and all of my students have grown so much! We are having so much fun learning, and I look forward to watching them continue to grow throughout the remainder of the school year!
