While technology certainly plays a prominent role in student learning, and many assignments are now electronically turned in, it is empowering for a student to see his/her tangible piece of work displayed for others to appreciate.
The publishing of students' English essays and other assignments with their personal and unique creativity becomes a hallmark to their efforts and a motivation for future endeavors.
I am constantly amazed how even students in a technologically immersed world still prefer paper copies of their work and literature to read over online texts. These printers will contribute to student enthusiasm and allow students more opportunity to engage in peer editing and revising.
Equally, internet connections often encounter hiccups, causing students and teachers stress if a lesson is computer based, but with printers available, hard copies can be produced easing the stress in the classroom.
