I have been teaching for 15 years, and this year will be my first year teaching 2nd grade in Midlothian, which is a suburb of Richmond, Virginia.
Crenshaw Elementary is a Title I school, and my students come from diverse racial and economic backgrounds. 48% of our students receive free and reduced lunch.
My classroom is a place where students can come together to learn, be creative, and have a sense of belonging in our classroom community.
My goal each year is for my students to know that I care about them, to feel safe, and to realize their potential as learners. I want my students to develop a love of learning that will stay with them long after they leave second grade.
