Students learn math concepts so much easier through hands on materials. Using the stamp game materials will help me bring the basic operations in math to life. Students will be able to witness for themselves how the simple steps in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are made concrete through the use of the stamp game materials.
Any concrete material that students use will create a picture of the math process in the child's mind. I want to bring math to life through the use of the yard/meter sticks and the stamp game materials. I'm excited about seeing my students advance in math through the use of these materials.
Since my students struggle with abstract ideas in math such as regrouping in addition, the use of these math materials will help them see the process right before their eyes. In addition, the use of the meter sticks will allow students to work in pairs to measure objects in pairs to learn about their environment through math.
