I teach 16 preschool students in a Great Start Readiness Program classroom. Many of my students have difficult home lives, including illiterate parents, unstable housing situations, and developmental delays. All of my students fall below 150% of the poverty line, and most are learning English as a second language.
Despite their struggles, I am constantly amazed by the value they place on education and their high regard for learning. My students are incredibly grateful and eager for new experiences. Their dedication to learning has the potential to take them far in life, and additional resources will provide them with a greater foundation for the journey ahead of them.
