We are a very diverse K-5 CA Title I elementary school with many low socio-economic students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. The students are eager to learn but face many challenges at home. We have little parent support on campus or participation in PTA so, teachers are often left with finding ways to get their students ready for the academic challenges ahead. Many students in our school do not have access (other than the public library) to the Internet and many do not have personal computers at home. So, anything having to do with technology is left to be done in the classroom. Despite all of their obstacles, our students come with a smile on their face and we greet them at the door, ready to help them progress and learn!
