Students in my classroom will use the requested materials as an avenue to explore and play and come up with their own observations and ideas about "how the world works". As an International Baccalaureate school, this is one the transdisciplinary themes that children study. Exploring this theme will be done in many ways. Students will use the "House Building Engineering Center" and "Jumbo Cardboard Blocks" to build and explore the concepts of balance, height, and shapes. Students will be active listeners as they hear the animal stories and imagine themselves with animals body parts. They can then listen to the same story on a CD with our new headphones at the Listening Center!
Children need repeated opportunities and varied activities as they learn and grow. Any additional resource that I can offer them will lead them in that direction. As the children learn to use resources independently, they will share and learn with one another.
