These Chromebooks will allow my students that are learning English to access Imagine Learning, a program that helps them improve their English. This can be very difficult with only 2 computers and 10 students that need to use them. I currently filter them over throughout the day. This creates challenges with students missing instruction, but we do our best.
They will also allow me to save paper. I use so much paper making books each year for my reading groups. I pick very carefully what I'm going to copy, and I reuse those books year after year. Although I know a story book on the computer doesn't take the place of holding a book in your hand, it would expand my little classroom library to the endless possibilities.
These Chromebooks will also allow me to lead research projects right in my classroom. They will give me the flexibility to meet with smaller groups that need a little extra help when it comes to searching the internet. Most of my students have only minimal experience with technology and even less with the internet. These Chromebooks would change that.
