Hello! I am an instructional coach and intervention teacher at a high-achieving public school in the SF Bay Area, CA. We are a Title 1 school, which means that more than 50% of our children receive free or reduced-priced lunches because of financial need and low socioeconomic status. This has a huge impact on the kids' lives... Many of them do not have basic school supplies or access to enrichment materials. It also impacts the teachers, who receive very few school monies or donations from parents with which to purchase classroom supplies. District and school budgets are being slashed by our current federal administration, and because kids come first, less money is being allocated for teacher development and training.
I'm a proud supporter of public schools, and I believe that children who have access to quality teachers and materials will be able to succeed no matter what! Please help me help our teachers and kids!
