Children learn best by describing, documenting and interacting with materials around them. They are naturally inquisitive scientists.
The science shelf will allow the children to explore a variety materials that are of interest to them. They will be able to explore the properties of magnets or the seeds in a pine cone. There will be materials to measure, count and document observations.
The sensory table will provide children with opportunities to explore materials by touching, smelling, observing materials. The table will allow them to explore inside as well as outside. Budding scientists will be able to create a hypothesis and come up with conclusions. This will create a foundation for future learning into adulthood and tech careers.
