Are you as passionate about early childhood foundations as we are? At this public Montessori school in the inner city of Dallas, more than 80% of the students come from families below the poverty level. We are extremely diverse! I have taught students with low literacy exposure at home, but we do not let it stop us. The Montessori Method engages all of our senses. We are aiming for an Exemplary rating from the TEA, and last year passing rate for reading during our Assessment of Course Performance 100%! With diligence in effective teaching, at-risk students perform with the same levels of success as any other child, and I want my students to have the same success I have had coming from a public school... and more. I believe every child is gifted in some way. We just need someone to believe in us, provide us with the right tools to explore, and get that boost.
