This is a public school with a very diverse community. My English Language Learner population is about 150 students with varying levels of English proficiency across grades pre-k through 2nd grade. This is a poverty-stricken district where more than 70% of our students are considered low-income. Our district does not have the funds available for teachers to purchase many, if ANY supplies for the classroom. The teachers are left with the expense out of their own pockets.
