Many of the activities I currently do will be made more efficient and less distracting with headphones. Currently, we have to do larger group work, which makes it difficult to differentiate and focus on specific needs of individual learners. Students often have to forgo auditory assists, or share earbuds with a student who brought them from home. However with these headphones, my students will be able to listen to prompts and assists at their own pace while completing assignments, listen to audio text during guided reading groups, have a noise canceling barrier during testing, and listen to music or play an educational game when they have earned reward time.
With these headphones and support books, my students will be more able to focus and concentrate more fully and be able to move at a speed that is most effective for them, while having a teacher who has more tools in her arsenal to assist them in growing fluency and comprehension.
Students will be able to focus on their work, get so much more from the materials, and process information in a way that works most effectively for them.
