When we all work, we want to be comfortable and sometimes being comfortable doesn't mean sitting at a desk! Alternative seating options will provide my students with different seating options daily besides a hard, plastic chair. With many active little ones in one space, having the option to be able to move and change seating may eliminate behavior issues that may arise.
This is not just "Ms Johnson's classroom, instead, this is "Ms Johnson's 1st grade class' room!" My students spend so much of their day at school in our classroom, so why not make it a comfortable place to learn?
Whether that be having a chair that allows them to move, a desk that allows them to stand, a mat that allows them to lay or a cushion that allows them to sit on the floor, students will be able to choose a seat to best fit their learning needs! My goal is for my students to learn that this is OUR classroom and give them the chance to take more initiative in their learning! I know my students would GREATLY appreciate your help in making our classroom a more comfortable space!
Donation Specifics:
Stay-N-Play Balance: Yoga balls to be used at tables/desks
Rest Mat: To be used as a laying seating option
Plastic Stools:To be used at a raised table
Clipboards: To be combined with the rest mats as a work table on the floor
Fidget Chair Bands: To be used with regular chairs at desks/tables
