I teach a special education class with four students. My students are nearly non-verbal or English is their second language. While their disabilities can make it difficult for them to learn, I prefer to focus on their abilities. My students all have the ability to succeed and are excited to come to school. My classroom involves quite a bit of singing, reading, and movement. Through music, some of my students have begun to increase their vocabularies and a showing signs of understanding and interacting with their peers.
