While working hard and fine tuning basic social, emotional and routine skills each day, my students also focus on creating, investigating and learning new skills with numbers, letters and other fundamental educational skills. With a classroom of students kindergarten through second grade, we focus on many different skill levels. By giving the students multiple counters and activities to use them for, it allows for differentiated centers and independent skill building.
What fun it will be to watch our students develop confidence while learning! By implementing learning activities that involve materials that provoke interest such as the dinosaur, car and food counters, I think the students will continue to want to engage in new learning ideas, while building upon familiar skills.
