Day 1: These basic binders will become anything but; the plain white backdrop is the perfect mode for self-expression. Not every student loves chatting about themselves, nevermind in front of a group of their peers. Decorating their own binder will allow for my students to more honestly convey who they are. Building relationships is so important, and this is a creative and student-centered first step! Days 2-179: Our personalized binders will be home to all notes, homework, bell-ringers, and test review materials. Each week we will have "binder check-ins", to be sure every student is staying on top of their learning and growth. These check-ins will make finding missing assignments a breeze and will remove any confusion when a student is absent. Additionally, students will maintain their own data tracker in the back of their binder. Data trackers will include test scores, standard quiz scores, and goal setting. Day 180: When our year comes to an end, students will be able to confidently review their binder and share how much they have accomplished. Not only will all materials in the binder be a great review for our end-of-year test, but the completed data tracker will display their amazing growth! With these requested binders, my students will stay organized from day 1 to day 180!
