I am a first-grade teacher and teach a variety of subjects from reading/math to science and social studies. The school that I teach in, is a Title I school that 100% of the students have free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students do not speak English at home, come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. These elementary students also tend to come from single-parent homes, to have grandparents raising them, or to be in financial need.
