I teach in an urban high school where my students have big dreams and diverse interests. My students have few resources of their own, and my city doesn't have a large education budget. I have both "typical" and "special needs" students of all abilities. Our program has been reduced to 2 music teachers for 1800 students. Our music budget has been reduced to $0 over the past few years. I am in desperate need of instruments and other resources to keep our program alive and thriving! So many of my students come to school for the elective programs that it's an absolute necessity to keep them functional.
