I teach English Language Learners in a Kindergarten-6th elementary school. Our ELL students comprise 15% of our school's population, and that number will continue to grow throughout the year. Many of my students are the only ones in their families who speak English and the only time they hear and use English is during school hours; therefore, I need to make every minute of our time together count. This year, we were excited to welcome a handful of newcomers to our school. We are thrilled to have them join us, and our school community has been extremely welcoming and willing to help them in any way. My students are highly enthusiastic and they love to learn; however, they need additional support in language to improve their confidence and comprehension in English. I am faced with the responsibility of find materials and methods that cater to the unique needs of my eager-to-learn ELL students.
