Brrrrrr! Living in northern Minnesota means indoor recess is inevitable! My students love the fresh air, being outside, and socializing, especially after a long stretch of being at home during the pandemic. My goal is to minimize the use of screen time and movies. I hope to create a classroom where they can also learn through play and exploration. What better time to instill this, than when the temperature dips below zero? Not only will students enjoy the Picasso Tiles, building bricks and straws, puzzles, and marble maze run, Play Doh and games, but the toys will enhance student's spacial, reasoning and fine motor skills, creative thinking, and social skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem solving. These toys and games will keep students engaged in activities that help them think, build social skills, and have fun instead of relying on technology. The shelf and storage tubs will make the toys easily accessible, in one place, and encourage organizational skills.
