I teach in a low-income, transient, high English Language Learner population. I love every minute of it. I get to show students I care about them as a person and not just a student. I get to show them that they are the ones that matter, not their parent's pay stub. And I get to show them that teaching them is one of the greatest joys in my life because I want them all to be successful in their future. I get the pleasure of teaching two classes this year as I am teaching Math and Science. I see about 50 fourth grade students every day and each one of them brings a smile to my face. We are a uniform school so while I do not get to see their personality through their choice in clothing, I do get to see their personalities throughout our interactions. I cannot wait to see what this year brings!
