My students have severe disabilities and are in a special day classroom to support functional living and vocational skills. My classroom is composed of students who are less than 3% of the general population and require extensive individualized education plans to support their learning. The students at our school site are of low socio-economic status, which results in a lack of parental and financial support. In my classes I serve 18-20 students by providing individualized plans for math, reading, writing, physical education, vocational and social skills. Tennis equipment will provide students with the opportunity to engage in a physical activity they have shown interest in and have lacked access to.
