My students are from a middle school in a very low poverty area where Spanish is mainly spoken with the family. Most come from large families with several students in different grade levels at multiple schools.
We are consistently trying to raise the students speaking, reading and writing capabilities. We have our students practice reading out-loud and in groups, also they highlight keywords or phrases that stand out to them, we finally have they write summaries so they could become more comfortable putting thoughts into paper.
