The theatre is an ever living, ever growing art form and we are excited to be able to create new ways of organizing, advertising and producing our shows, even at the High School level. These items can further our abilities to promote and grow our theatre collective, a goal all artists hope to achieve. I hope to be able to foster a creative environment where our students can access and flourish in the here and now, and prepare for the future and what's to come.
With technologies like these, our students will be able to keep up with the digital world that is now a vibrant part of the Theatre as a whole. Here at KHS Theatre, we are in need of a color printer and tablet that would be used to bring apps and tools into the hands of our students to organize and push our events into the community. This generation is engrossed in the digital world, and I want to embrace this and find new ways of incorporating it into the daily routine, rehearsals, and process surrounding KHS Theatre program.
Our stage managers can benefit from apps on the tablet that would allow them to quickly and efficiently take notes, score blocking, and communicate with other directors in a way we cannot do so now. We are reinstating our International Thespian Honor Society, where we are able to recognize Theatre Arts students for their achievements in the theatre. One of the major components is the students ability to manage their own points systems, google forms, and websites, something that would be easily accomplished if I had a tablet in the classroom specifically designed for this purpose.
