Hello Potential Donor! Thank you for taking the time to check out my welcome message. I teach 8th grade science in a large urban school district in central Oklahoma. My students are a wonderfully diverse group from many different cultures and family backgrounds. Most of my students are eligible for free and reduced lunches and many go home to crowded living situations in violent neighborhoods. However, these incredibly resilient children come to school everyday curious and ready to learn.
My goal in the classroom is to provide a cheerful, safe space for students to explore science. Concrete, hands-on learning experiences are best, especially for students of differing learning abilities and English language proficiency. Although we are a "state testing" grade, what I value most is student curiosity, effort, and improvement in learning science.
Thank you again for taking time to get to know me and my students!
