My students love to be busy! They learn best when playing and being active. They enjoy coming to learn English and are always asking to play games! "Please can we play more games to learn?" They keep requesting to have more interactive games to learn with so they can move around and be active in my classroom! They want to hop, toss and bounce to acquire English skills. "Please Mrs. M., can you please get us games that will help us learn and get us moving while we play?" I hear that a lot so I decided to do something about it! I am going to turn my vocabulary and English lessons into sports games and different stations using corn hole game, bean bags, hopscotch and crocodile hop. They can sit and bounce in the yoga ball chair as they build words with the bean bag letters and write!
They will hop at the hopscotch station doing adding and subtracting while they hop! Toss beans to identify shapes, attributes, colors, numbers and letter sounds! This gets them moving and learning as they have fun! My students keep asking to play and be active as they learn! This will certainly do the trick! I can't wait to see their enthusiasm as they bounce, throw bean bags, and hop to learn! This will add lots of activity to their school day, get them up and moving and keep them smiling!
