I am a third grade teacher in the foothills of North Carolina. The school that I teach at is made up of mostly low income students. The students who are a part of my classroom are high need students who want nothing more than to succeed academically. In order for them to do so, they require the use of hands-on materials and engaging tools within every lesson. Through the use of these materials they are able to experience the concepts being taught first hand and the experiences result in higher levels of understanding.
