My school is tucked away in a neighborhood on the north side of the city, where students come from a diverse set of backgrounds. There are children who come from decent neighborhoods, but more often than not there are children who don't know where they will be living next month and beg for consistency and structure. Some of our students couldn't ask for more love and others beg for love in the most unkind of ways. In my classroom, my students' personalities change from day to day or even hour to hour. One thing never changes is that my students never cease to amaze me. They are constantly challenging themselves academically, socially, and even emotionally through the trials that the teenage years throws at them.
At my middle school, we strive to be better educators, role models, and life-long learners to give our students the resources to be successful in life.
