ESL students will be given the opportunity to explore Washington, D.C. from walking the halls of the U.S. Capitol, to climbing the steps of the Abraham Lincoln Memorial, to taking pictures of the White House and best of all their wishes to visit Washington, D.C. will come true. The experience of visiting the U.S. Capitol is so very different from the other forms of trips offered to the students in our community. In a society where learning empathy and making personal connections is a challenge, where poverty holds children back from achieving their full potential, I believe it is important to open their minds to the depth of interaction they can have through experiences like this. I hope you can help me make this possible for my students. Thank you so much!
