My kindergarten class is full of new readers that are eager and excited to learn. They support each other in their learning and celebrate their successes every day. My class is one of a kind and I feel very privileged to be a part of their lives.
I teach kindergarten at an inner city school in Central New York. Our school is located in an urban neighborhood with a high poverty rate. I have many students in my class who are English Language Learners, did not have the opportunity to go to preschool, and do not have access to books at home.
