Preschool students learn best when they can interact with what is being presented to them. When we are learning something new I try to present it in a variety of ways. We have centers set up to explore the topic, we read books that go with the topic and do seat work to practice what we are learning. I am asking for a Smart TV for my students so that they can also interact with the topic through digital media, virtual field trips, existing computer programs, and music and movement.
We are fortunate to have a GREAT Preschool curriculum in place but have not been able to utilize all of its components without a way to project the lessons for our students. With a Smart TV in place we will be able to provide a new way for our Pre-K students to interact with their learning, by incorporating the technology portion of our curriculum.
We also use my classroom for our after school program where students in preschool-3rd grade come to music class. We will use a Smart TV to present new songs to students, watch and learn dances and explore the world of music through other places and cultures.
