It all started when I was given a personalized mug. Wow! This is what my students need. Teaching STEAM and having a Maker Space in my classroom has opened my eyes into the fast pace world of design and making. The Cricut Maker cuts a variety of materials. Materials used in STEAM, FACS, and Maker Spaces. It would allow our model makers, sewers, artists, and Makers more precision. We engage in a number of STEM related competitions. This would enhance our chances of victory. Display boards, Model Making, and Team Apparel to name a few. We have very creative students that need an outlet to the end of their design process. Without restrictions in processing materials, the sky is the limit. Ultimately, our students would benefit greatly from having the technology to make and create projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Family and Consumer Sciences. The machine cuts materials precisely, embosses, marks, etc... thus giving our students a wide range of flexibility in the type of project they choose to pursue. Lastly, we are trying to mimic 21st century manufacturing processes, by adding technology that machines materials and is Computer Numerically Controlled.
