Hello. I am a passionate performing arts and ELA teacher who loves to create alternatives for my students. I love to inspire them to think beyond the immediate and see how their choices, behavior, and habits are creating THEIR character. We study character development through literature, drama exercises and improvisation and apply those skills to real life. 100% of my students are labeled "at risk." I try to teach them to defy expectations and use the skills they are learning in my class to effectively communicate with authority (the most difficult challenge to date) and their peers. They are learning how their external circumstances effects how they respond to situations. I set each student up for success and create a comfortable environment where each student can be who they are without judgement or ridicule. That, in itself, is an accomplishment.
