My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home lives. Many are being raised by single parents, grandparents/relatives, or are in foster homes. The students come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, with a large portion being Hispanic, Punjabi, and African American. Our school is designated Title 1, which means that over 70% of our kids are receiving free and reduced breakfast and lunch each day. Additionally, we have a large population of students who are English Language Learners. Despite these difficult challenges, our school believes that success can be reached for everyone of our 1,012 students! Our school's motto is that we are part of an "Amazing Race" and along that path, academic success will be not achieved by some, but by EVERYONE.
