Comfortably, choice, fun and a community of sharing is something I am trying to build in my STEM science classroom. As a STEM teacher it is my job to encourage my students to step out of their "comfort zone" and learn in a new way and environment. However in order to ensure this happens I must get my students away from the typical table and chair and into seats that make them comfortable.
By having a choice in how they learn, with their seats, they will be able to step out and really delve into the objectives I want them to learn.
I am asking for various items for my students to sit on while they collaborate and learn in my classroom. I feel that having a carpet, with a science theme, will make my classroom feel more homey and comfortable. The seats I have chosen range from a bouncy ball, with legs, bean bags and wiggle seats.
I have also asked for 24 fidget bands for each student's chair. There are many times in a day where my children are working at their chairs but are bouncing their lets, tapping their feet or having some type of movement that may bother their classmates. By having these bands attached to their chairs it would enable my students to have movement without interrupting the learning of a fellow classmates.
