My students love learning and love MOVING! It is so hard to be asked to sit in a traditional seat during instruction, practice activities, discussion, and independent work time. I would like for them to be able to use the these flexible seating options during direct instruction, independent practice, and during centers to help promote optimal engagement.
My students will love being able to choose seating options as they work independently in our classroom.
Through research, I have seen fantastic results from classrooms with open seating options for their students. I know my students would benefit as well, and I can't wait to see their excitement, as well as engagement, increase with our new seating options.
Much like teachers differentiate their instruction to meet the needs of all students, it's time to allow children to choose HOW and WHERE they will learn best.
